From 1997 to 2000 Mr. Karimov headed the Debt Control and Management Department of Norilsk Nickel, the world's largest producer of non-ferrous and precious metals.
From 2000 to 2002 he was the Head of the Restructuring Department of Russian Aluminium, the Russian leading producer of aluminum alloys and aluminum products.
In 2002 he founded and headed BEL Development, a subsidiary of the Base Element Group, which is engaged in managing the Group's investment projects in the real estate market.
